Alin Florian Constantinescu
Actor
I was born on the outskirts of one of the most crowded and poorest cities in communist Romania. My father wanted me to either join the military or become a priest. I opted for a local military high school, where I discovered my artistic side. I watched subtitled American films whenever I could and dreamed of one day starring in films like those. After my father passed away, I left the military behind and went abroad to study acting.
My unique, cool, raspy voice, acting skills and flexibility quickly caught the attention of casting directors, putting me on stage alongside seasoned actors early in my college career. In my early twenties, I hosted two TV shows and performed in numerous stage productions. A few years later, I found my way into the film and television industry.
I learnt English by learning sounds, and I can easily find my way around Russian, French and Portuguese as well. I learnt those languages the hard way — waiting tables in Portugal and selling newspaper subscriptions in Moldova. English has become second nature to me. With little to no warm-up time, I can easily be mistaken for a native speaker.
Now that my daughters are old enough, I have returned fully to my lifelong passion of acting in films. I know this is where I belong, which is why I am deeply focused on my craft and always ready to work. I’m always learning and working on something, and I'm constantly asking myself how I can improve what I see on screen. I still have stories to tell — stories that the world needs to see and hear.
